I’ve found some free Kindle novels this weekend of January 6, 2023 on Amazon. Yay!
Hey friends. Most of my reading tastes tend to run cozy mysteries, mysteries, and thrillers. If that’s not your thing … sorry:(
Free Kindle books are becoming tougher to come by! Well, not always, just the ones that I’ve already read and recommend. Many authors offer the first book in a series for free to generate reader interest to buy more novels in the series. Works for me! As the writers get more popular and make more sales, they take down the freebies. They might make the first in the series 99¢ or they might have a freebie when a new book is launched. Hopefully you grabbed some of my favorites in previous posts when they were still free!
You don’t need a Kindle to read books for free. For years I did most of my eBook reading on my iPad where I downloaded the Kindle app – free! You can download the Kindle app onto your tablet, Smartphone, or your computer so you too can read for free. Amazon will help you find your way. Under the buy now option, Amazon has a little banner that says “Read on any device.” Click it and follow the instructions on where you’d like to read books.

Bikinis & Bloodshed
This is book #8 in the Aloha Lagoon Mystery series. If you like cozy mysteries and Hawaii, then snap up this novel while it’s free. That’s a better price than what I bought it for! Kaley returns to Kauai after a very public divorce from her football player husband to work at her aunt’s clothing store in the Aloha Lagoon resort. After an employee is murdered, the detective suspects her aunt, and Kaley investigates to find the real killer.
Golden Retriever Mysteries
If you love dogs and mysteries, the Golden Retriever Mysteries is a good choice. Steven and his golden retriever, Rochester, sniff out and solve mysteries. Sometimes Steven falls back into old habits and does a little hacking, justified by solving crimes. It’s our lucky weekend. Book 7, 8, and 9 in the series are all free this weekend! I’ve read these three and they can be read as standalone novels. However. Yeah, there’s always one. There’s backstory and it can be confusing if you haven’t read the previous novels. But hey, they’re free, so grab them while you can!
I thought book #9 was great because Steve thinks about getting back into motorbikes. He tries one out with a sidecar for Rochester. Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover!
The Steel Shark
OK, I haven’t read this book yet, but I have read the first two books in the Joe Tesla series. He lives in a legacy house in the tunnels of the New York subway system. How cool is that? If you don’t like daylight I guess. But it’s an interesting concept. It’s seem agoraphobic Joe has left his comfort zone and is traveling by submarine. Totally worth it when it’s free!
Abby Kane FBI Series
I’ve read one or two of the books in this series, but not for awhile. Mostly I liked the San Francisco setting. I spotted a boxed set of 6 books in the series for free, so I downloaded it. Give the series a try seeing as how it doesn’t cost you anything. Our New Year’s challenge is to spend less money.
