This recipe came to life because I’m trying to use up the blackberries in my freezer!
I picked a lot of blackberries last summer and froze them. Before I know it, time will fly and blackberries will be ripe enough for picking again.
So what can I do to use up the blackberries in my freezer, besides baking more Skinny Blackberry Muffins.
It’s smoothie time! With fears about the coronavirus pandemic, we can always use another immunity boosting smoothie. It’s time for my Spicy Apple Green Tea Smoothie to get a snappy upgrade. All I did was add a cup of frozen blackberries to the blender instead of using ice cubes.
Easy peasy!
Bonus: a drink with a gorgeous purple color.
And it’s a cheap meal because I picked those blackberries for free. Ouch! Memories of being pricked and scratched by blackberry thorns. Ow! OW!
The blackberry seeds make this a crunchy smoothie. If that’s not your thing, just stick with the original.
