Let me give you a little life advice, friends: never, and I mean never, take a country girl for granted.
We might look sweet in our cowboy hats and denim, but don’t let the freckles fool you. Underneath that polite “bless your heart” is a woman who can reverse a trailer, cuss out your deadbeat ex, and haul 50-pound hay bales before breakfast. And if you mess around? Yup. We know how to ride away and not look back.
You see, some folks think we’re all boots and giggles, just happy to hang around while someone takes us for granted. Wrong pasture. We were raised on hard work, harder choices, and the kind of independence that gets baked in along with the biscuits.
We don’t wait around for someone to come to their senses. We give chances, sure. We’re kind like that. But if you burn through ’em? We’re not crying into our cowgirl hats. We’re already gone, tires spinning or hooves flying, whichever’s faster.
Unlike some girls, we don’t just walk away. We ride. And there’s nothing more empowering than a woman on a horse (or in a truck) with wind in her hair and not a single regret in her rearview mirror.
So next time you think about taking a country girl for granted, ask yourself: can you still see her dust trail? If so, you’re already too late.
