Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
2022 has been a tough year all around. Whether it’s illness or unemployment brought on from the coronavirus pandemic, staggering inflation, or something else, let’s all hope for a better and brighter 2023!
Today’s post features my favorite pets over the years posing with Santa Claus for Christmas photos.
Some of the photos were taken at malls. There’s usually one night set aside for pet photos with Santa. Most of the pets are dogs, but one time there was a very unhappy cat in the line for a Santa photo!
Other photos were taken at Art Knapp’s garden center, the Pitt Meadows Co-op, and Stampede Tack. At Art Knapp’s, the Santa wanted to take my border collie/lab cross, Lacy, off the leash. I said if you do that, you can try and catch her! Lacy was a runner, an escape artist, and she was fast. There’s no doubt in my mind she would have gone ripping through that place! You can tell Santa has a death grip on her in that photo.
These Santa photos always make me smile!
This was my darling Standardbred horse, Mark, posing for Christmas card photos.
I love Dalmatians, and Katy was the first dog I owned as an adult.
Another mall Santa visit for Katy!
Lacy came into my life in 1999 and enjoyed a few Santa photos. She was a cross between a border collie and labrador is my best guess, and was the smartest dog I’ve ever owned.
The “sisters” Katy and Lacy pose with Santa, who’s got a death grip on Lacy. You can see in her eyes that she wants to book it out of there!
Lucky (Standardbred) on the left and Whistler (Appaloosa) on the right pose for their first photo with Santa.
My mini donkeys, Laverne and Shirley, pose with Santa and an elf.
Tessa was one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever known. I wish she’d had more time with me.
Tessa and Lacy with Santa.
Lucy was a foster dog who stayed with me while waiting for her furever home. Best guess, she was a Treeing Walker Coonhound.
Shadow (border collie cross) on the left and Chica (Black Lab) pose with Santa.
And last year, my remaining dog, Shadow, poses with Santa.
Wishing all my friends who read The Lifestyle Digs much happiness this holiday season. Merry Christmas everyone!
