Today’s post is Free Kindle novels weekend of May 22, 2021! Yay!

Hi friends! Happy long weekend – Victoria Day if you’re in Canada! I’ve found some free books on Amazon Kindle this weekend that are free. Yay! Most of my reading tastes tend to run cozy mysteries, mysteries, and thrillers. If that’s not your thing … sorry:(

Free Kindle books are becoming tougher to come by! Well, not always, just the ones that I’ve already read and recommend. Many authors offer the first book in a series for free to generate reader interest to buy more novels in the series. Works for me! As the writers get more popular and make more sales, they take down the freebies. They might make the first in the series 99¢ or they might have a freebie when a new book is launched. Hopefully you grabbed some of my favorites in previous posts when they were still free!

You don’t need a Kindle to read books for free. For years I did most of my eBook reading on my iPad where I downloaded the Kindle app – free! You can download the Kindle app onto your tablet, Smartphone, or your computer so you too can read for free. Amazon will help you find your way. Under the buy now option, Amazon has a little banner that says “Read on any device.” Click it and follow the instructions on where you’d like to read books.

PRICE CHECK!

Always double check the price before hitting the “buy now” button on Amazon. Some of these novels migrate to their regular price without warning! Right now these kindle novels are free during the weekend of May 22, 2021.

(Disclosure: I’m an Amazon associate and earn a small commission when you click on Amazon links on this site and make a purchase. These Kindle novels are currently free, therefore I won’t receive commission for making these referrals.)

CONNIE SHELTON

If you like cozy mysteries that take place in New Mexico or if you like bakeries, check out this freebie. Samantha Sweet takes care of cleaning up foreclosed properties while trying to get a bakery business off the ground.

I just noticed Book #5 Bitter Sweet free this weekend. I’ve read a few novels in this series, but not this one yet, but I can recommend the author and the series for a fun mystery!

Sam encounters two elderly women who suddenly die! Is a serial killer on the loose? You and I will find out together because I’ve downloaded this freebie!

If you’re new to the series, the first, Sweet Masterpiece. is also on free right now this weekend – so grab them both!

R.E. DONALD

The Hunter Rayne Highway Mysteries are written by an author from British Columbia, R.E. Donald. Hunter Rayne used to work for the R.C.M.P. and now works as a truck driver. But, he’s still solving murders. I’ve read all the books in the series, most of them take place in B.C. and the Yukon, and one trip to California. The books take place in the nineties, so it’s kind of strange watching Hunter track down pay phones instead of using a cell phone like everyone does today! Good gripping mysteries and I learn a bit about long haul truck driving at the same time. Slow Curve on the Coquihalla is currently free, and is the name of a highway between Hope and Kamloops. It was built in the mid-1980s and cuts the driving time by a couple of hours from the Fraser Canyon route on Highway 1.

R.P. DAHLKE

R.P. Dahlke writes the humorous Lalla Baines Mystery Series. Can you imagine going through life with a name like Lalla? Yikes! Anyway, Lalla is running a crop duster business in California, taking over for her father. And the scrapes she gets herself into are a lot of fun for the reader. I’ve read the entire series, and Lalla and dad eventually relocate to Arizona. Anytime you can grab a well written box set for free – get it while the price is right!

MELISSA F. MILLER

And speaking of boxed sets… I’ve gotten hooked on the Sasha McCandless series after getting the first three books in a free bundle. And guess what? Still free, so snap it up if you love full length legal thrillers! Sasha works for a large law firm, specializing in corporate litigation, and is on the path to become partner in the first novel. In this series Sasha is trying to figure out why a plane crashed, why a doctor is becoming the POA for senior patients, and in her first foray into criminal defense – who is murdering females lawyers. Loved it so much, I bought the second bundle of novels and read them all too. The price is right at FREE! Download and see if you love Sasha as much as I do.

CINDY SAMPLE

Wow! I haven’t seen Dying for a Date for free in a long time! This is the first in the Laurel McCay humorous mysteries, and I’ve read all the books in the series. So you can tell what my favorite type of novels are! This series takes place in Northern California and recently divorced Laurel has signed up with a matchmaking service. I just love this series! If you also like the author, you can sign up for her newsletter and find out when she has 99¢ specials on others in the series. Though $2.99 is also very reasonable and I’ve bought in at full price because I just can’t wait any longer for a sale!

I hope some of these free Kindles make it to your reading list. Free Kindle novels weekend of May 22, 2021! All right! Stat weekend reading! Let me know what you think. You can’t beat these weekend prices!

And just for a little fun, you can watch me on YouTube about when I dated a hillbilly and how he got fired from a job building the Coquihalla Highway! Had to toss it in seeing as how one of the freebie novels this weekend references the good old Coke!
