I love getting free things and I’ve spotted some novels that I liked reading that are free right now. I’d like you to get them while you can!
You don’t need a Kindle to read books for free. For years I did most of my eBook reading on my iPad where I downloaded the Kindle app – free! You can download the Kindle app onto your tablet, Smartphone, or your computer so you too can read for free. Amazon will help you find your way. Under the buy now option, Amazon has a little banner that says “Read on any device.” Click it and follow the instructions on where you’d like to read books.
Always double check the price before hitting the “buy now” button on Amazon. Some of these novels migrate to their regular price without warning! Right now these kindle novels are free during the weekend of January 18, 2020.
(Disclosure: I’m an Amazon associate and earn a small commission when you click on Amazon links on this site and make a purchase. These Kindle novels are currently free, therefore I won’t receive commission for making these referrals.)

The Hunter Rayne Highway Mysteries are written by an author from British Columbia, R.E. Donald. Hunter Rayne used to work for the R.C.M.P. and now works as a truck driver. But, he’s still solving murders. I’ve read all the books in the series, most of them take place in B.C. and the Yukon, and one trip to California. The books take place in the nineties, so it’s kind of strange watching Hunter track down pay phones instead of using a cell phone like everyone does today! Good gripping mysteries and I learn a bit about long haul truck driving at the same time. Sea to Sky is currently free, and that’s the nickname for the highway that runs between Vancouver and Whistler, a ski resort. And that’s where a dead skier comes riding down the chairlift.

If you’ve been keeping an eye out when another Sloane Monroe mystery is going to be free, you’re in luck this weekend with Book #7, Gone Daddy Gone. Kind of a sad one which hits close to home for Sloane. Another series that I’ve read them all. Well, almost. I downloaded book #8 when it was on sale for 99¢ a couple of months ago, but haven’t read it yet.

We’re in luck! Book 1 of the Laurel McKay cozy mysteries is kicking around for free this weekend! If you haven’t picked it up already, grab it now and get ready to laugh! This series takes place in Northern California and recently divorced Laurel has signed up with a matchmaking service. Authors quite often kick starts sales by offering the first book free. Worked on me! I’ve read them all.

Linda lives in a small town on the Oregon Coast, and works out of her condo as a day trader. Her best friend doesn’t show up for their lunch date and is later found murdered. She’d left Linda “in case of death” instructions because she was worried Linda might become a target for her killers. Linda doesn’t take the warning too seriously, until she wakes up in the middle of the night and realizes the killer is inside her condo.
Will she escape? Or will he kill her?

If you like cozy mysteries that take place in New Mexico or if you like bakeries, Sweet Masterpiece will be a good choice. Samantha Sweet takes care of cleaning up foreclosed properties while trying to get a bakery business off the ground.
Lilliana Hart
Being a teacher and a stripper didn’t work out for Addison Holmes, so she’s now going to try being a private investigator. Whiskey Rebellion is the first in the series, I’ve read them all. This novel will keep you laughing at the predicaments Addison gets herself into.
I hope some of these free Kindles make it to your reading list. Let me know what you think. You can’t beat these weekend prices!
