Free Kindle Novels Weekend of May 2, 2020

Hey friends! Happy weekend! I’ve found some free books on Amazon Kindle this weekend that are free. Yay! Most of my reading tastes tend to run cozy mysteries, mysteries, and thrillers. If that’s not your thing … sorry:(

I love getting free things and I’ve spotted some novels that I liked reading that are free right now. I’d like you to get them while you can! Mostly I wanted to let you know about Joann Bassett’s great deal!

You don’t need a Kindle to read books for free. For years I did most of my eBook reading on my iPad where I downloaded the Kindle app – free! You can download the Kindle app onto your tablet, Smartphone, or your computer so you too can read for free. Amazon will help you find your way. Under the buy now option, Amazon has a little banner that says “Read on any device.” Click it and follow the instructions on where you’d like to read books.

Always double check the price before hitting the “buy now” button on Amazon. Some of these novels migrate to their regular price without warning! Right now these kindle novels are free during the weekend of May 2, 2020.

(Disclosure: I’m an Amazon associate and earn a small commission when you click on Amazon links on this site and make a purchase. These Kindle novels are currently free, therefore I won’t receive commission for making these referrals.)

JoAnn Bassett

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Maui Widow Waltz for free on Kindle. This is the first book in the Aloha Mystery Series. If you love Hawaii and cozy mysteries are your thing – you’ll love following wedding planner Pali as she tries to figure out what happened to the missing groom. I’ve read the entire series, except the last one, and that’s mostly because the author surprised the readers with one more book after the series ended. I’m not so sure I want to read it, but maybe one day I’ll get around to it. The author moved on to writing a different series called Escape to Maui, but they’re more woman’s lit than mystery, and they’re not recurring characters. Each book in the Escape to Maui series is a stand alone novel Anyway, Book 3 in that series has just been released, which is my guess why Maui Widow Waltz is on for free – to attract new readers. Worked for me back in 2013!

Book 1 of the Laurel McKay cozy mysteries is still kicking around for free this weekend! If you haven’t picked it up already, grab it now and get ready to laugh! This series takes place in Northern California and recently divorced Laurel has signed up with a matchmaking service. I just love this series! If you like the author, you can sign up for her newsletter and find out when she has 99¢ specials on others in the series.

Chelsea Thomas

This next freebie is a novella, part of the Apple Orchard Mysteries. Chelsea, her Aunt May, and aunt’s friend Teeny head to Vermont to participate in a bake off. The judge, who seems to be a take off on Chef Ramsey, has drowned in the lake. Or is it murder? Anyway, it’s a quick read and should give you some insight on whether you want to read more in the series. There are currently eight Apple Orchard Mysteries.

Sally Berneathy

If you love chocolate as much as I do, you’ll love this delicious novel! Lindsay is making a break from her ex-husband and opens a chocolate bakery. A stalker, poisoned chocolate, a quirky neighbor, and a dead man make this cozy mystery a lot of fun.

Connie Shelton

If you like cozy mysteries that take place in New Mexico or if you like bakeries, check out this freebie. Samantha Sweet takes care of cleaning up foreclosed properties while trying to get a bakery business off the ground.

Gemma Halliday

This is the first novel in the High Heel Mysteries. Shoe designer, Maddie’s boyfriend is missing. $20 million is also missing. A few dead bodies pile up, and sexy detective Ramirez is becoming a huge distraction. What’s a girl to do? Slip on some high heels of course!

I hope some of these free Kindles make it to your reading list. Let me know what you think. You can’t beat these weekend prices!
